- Ray Rice –
Rice had a breakout fantasy performance last week. He gets the Pats this week who are decent against the run but Rice proved during last year’s playoffs that he can torch Bill’s defense. Look for more of the same this week in what should be a great game. - Rashard Mendenhall – Mendenhall is having the type of season the Steelers envisioned when picking him in the first round of the 2008 draft. He’s seventh in the league in rushing and was bumped down the list due to his bye week. His rise back up the list is only helped by facing the lowly Browns defense. Expect a big day from Rashard as he welcomes Big Ben back from suspension.
- Ahmad Bradshaw – Giants – Remember the days of Thunder and Lightning? Well, they’re gone. Brandon Jacobs is more effective hurling his helmet in the crowd than running the ball. This realization by the Giants coaching staff has led to a big start to the season for Bradshaw. He’s fourth in the league in rushing and tees off against Detroit’s porous rushing defense. Start with confidence.
Leave Em Out
- Matt Forte – Last week I was Forte’s biggest fan. Telling everyone I could to start him. This week, I’ve cooled considerably on the Bears leading rusher for two reasons: A) I don’t trust Martz to call his number enough now that Cutler is back and B) he’s got Seattle’s defense this week. While they aren’t exactly the ’85 Bears, they are second against the rush. Adds up to an average day for Mr. Forte.
- Maurice Jones-Drew – Alright, you can’t bench MJD but this is a warning: I don’t like this matchup for him and I’m convinced he has to be hurt. Having owned Jones-Drew in previous seasons, I was rewarded greatly. In speaking with his owners this year, he has returned nothing but false hope. Like I said, you can’t bench the guy but don’t expect much this week against the Titans.
- Marshawn Lynch -The newest member of the Seahawks has a lot of fantasy owners happy now that he’s out of Buffalo. I would agree with that sentiment but not this week. He gets the task of facing a stout Bears D that has stymied running backs this season. He’s also likely to share carries with Justin Forsett until they feel comfortable handing him the load in this offense.
Sleeper
Michael Bush – 
I’m not thrilled about this since I released Bush a few weeks ago due to McFadden’s start and his injury, just saying. I think Bush can have a big game against a 49ers team that can’t seem to do anything right at this point. He also showed signs of fantasy life last week against the Chargers so if you need a #2 or flex guy, put him in for sure.
